Recently Director Young Man Kang collaborated with fellow Avatar (director: James Cameron) alumni, Just Cause 3d, on his 4d Experience Project (client Hyundai). The 4d Experience was one of the first in the world to use a 4D 5G grandeur theater ad in 2010.
Hyundai Grandeur/Azera gets KDM 4D promo - Avatar may have been a box-office king thanks in part to its wonderful use of 3D film-making. Hyundai, however, is not impressed by Mr. Cameron's science-fiction epic and it's decided to show-off the all-newGrandeur/Azera to the Korean public by way of a 4D commercial shown in theaters.
Hyundai wants those watching this clip to get the sensation that they're actually behind the wheel of the lux'd-up full-size sedan. While we can't get that feeling from watching a video on the internet, we can imagine where some well-placed mist and wind might show up to tantalize senses beyond just vision.

LA411 - What camera & system did you use for 3D and 4D filming?
YMK- We shot 4D experience project with 3D stereoscopic system, Two Red One MX cameras, two Vision3 3D zoom lens with Element Techinica Quasar rig.
Qtake HD 3D system and Cineform and Smoke 3D editing system.
4D system, we planed from the concept with 4D software programmer and make the storyboard, then we shot 3D stereoscopic system, and editing the film and give rough cut to give to 4D engineers to set up 4D effects at the 4D Plex theater.
They have 4D effects such as wind, chair moving, spray, smell, strobe, tackle.
The first 4D film in commercial theaters, not theme parks, was in Korea in the 4D Plex theaters in 2010, was ‘Avatar’.
Based up 3D film ‘Avatar’ , 4D programmer created 4D effect system throughout the film, but our 4D project has a world record for the first 4D film that start shooting with 4D concept from the beginning of the production.
