First Ever 3D Film Shot on Location in Heavenly Conrad Island, Maldives

On June 9th, rookie girl group Blady took off to the Maldives to film for their music video, “Crazy Day“, which will be under the direction of Hollywood director Young Man Kang. Not only is this the first ever Korean idol group to film their music video in the Maldives.

Recently Director Young Man Kang collaborated with fellow Avatar (director: James Cameron) alumni, Just Cause 3d, on his 4d Experience Project (client Hyundai). The 4d Experience was one of the first in the world to use a 4D 5G grandeur theater ad in 2010.
Not resting on past successes, Young Man Kang wanted to push again the limits of 3d immersive filmmaking with the new music video and documentary for Blady's newest release "Crazy Day".
Shooting a somewhat run and gun style and creating the 3d in post production takes a keen eye and deep understanding of the whole 2d-3d/4d filmmaking process. When asked about the experience this is what Young had to say, "3d is the most immersive way to capture film today. While most music videos do a lot of CGI in post I feel the best 3d is what is real, and found in the natural settings so I chose to shoot with wide angles with tons of depth of field in beautiful settings to really emphasize and to really capture the three dimensionality and beauty of Conrad and the Beach House Islands."
We also talked to the producer Jeff Ali and he had this to add "Currently we're converting the 2d acquired footage into 3d, (post is being done in Japan). Our goal is to create a 3d experience that doesn't require 3d glasses." This whole project will be released in ten or more language in cooperation with Media Entertainment which is based in London and will be handling translations and worldwide distribution and global marketing.

CEO Kim Tae Ahn of SY6 Entertainment revealed, “In order to raise Blady into Hallyu stars, we are starting them off internationally right from the production stages. Director Kang Young Man saw the potential Blady has as Hallyu stars and agreed to direct their music video. Blady is a group that was created from the get-go with the international audience in mind, so with their debut, we hope to unleash the plans we have for them to secure their growth as Hallyu stars.”
